Methodology: How we formulated
SOS Sleep Mask

To maximize nighttime repair we added our hero ingredient - Aphanizomenon var. flos aqua.

Aphanizomenon var. flos aqua extract is a type of blue-green algae extract that is known for its high concentration of antioxidants and retinoid-like effects.

To boost hydration we added snow mushroom.

Snow mushrooms are rich in hydrating polysaccharides. They are thought to help the skin retain moisture, and may also help to reduce inflammation and redness.

We then added ceramides to turbo-charge the action.

Ceramides are lipids found in skin cell membranes. They help to keep skin hydrated and soft. They also help to protect the skin from environmental stressors.

Soothing inflammation boosts the skin benefits even more. For this, we selected...

Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate, a salt derived from glycyrrhizic acid (found in licorice root). It has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and skin-soothing properties.

Then we added that little extra something...

Fermented oat extract. Full of peptides and polysaccharides it is known to soothe and calm the skin. Additionally, it may help to improve the skin's barrier function by supporting the microbiome.

The Power of Self-Care: Why You Should Make Time for Yourself Every Night

Our skin care routines before we go to sleep are important because they help us to remove makeup, dirt, and oil from our skin. It is the ideal time to apply treatment products because our skin cells regenerate and heal while we sleep.

The best time to repair your skin is at night

Whatever treatments we use, we can increase the benefits by keeping our skin hydrated. When you hydrate your skin at night, you take advantage of the hours your skin’s natural repair process is most active.

The Benefits of Hydrating Your Skin

By keeping your skin hydrated, you are helping it to repair any damage that has been done during the day and preventing new damage from occurring.

Creating a routine for better rest

There are other benefits to having a consistent night time routine.

Taking a moment...

For one, it can help signal to your body that it is time to wind down and prepare for sleep.

Create your best inner space

A routine can also help you relax and de-stress before bed, which can improve the quality of your sleep. Finally, a night time routine can help you stick to a regular sleep schedule, which is important for overall health and well-being.
